How and when is the Pegasaas Page Cache cleared?

Page Cache is a key component of web performance optimization.  By caching the web page, the initial time-to-first-byte can be shortened by whole seconds so that your page is served within a few hundred milliseconds.  Cache clearing can happen manually, or automatically.  Below is a list of the different triggers that will the page cache in the Pegasaas Accelerator WP plugin:

  1. Via the top mega menu, click the “Delete Cache” button.  This will clear the entire site page cache.

  2. Via the individual vertical […] button in the Pegasaas page scores dashboard, to the right of the page slug (and left of the PageSpeed/Baseline scores) when you either purge the cache or request the page is re-optimized.

  3. Via the “clear cache” or “optimize now” link on the edit pages, or posts, (or custom post) page where all the pages/posts/custom-post types are listed.  This link is visible when you hover over the page titlePegasaas Accelerator WP Clear Cache - Manually Request Cache Cleared or Page Reoptimized
  4. When full page acceleration is disabled for a page

  5. When the page/post status is changed from “published” to anything else (trashed, draft, etc)Pegasaas Accelerator WP Clear Cache - Clear When Page Status Changed
  6. If you have “Premium + Extended Coverage” enabled in the Settings -> Optimization Coverage panel, then if you then select just “Premium” coverage, all of the pages/posts that were covered under the “extended” get the cache clearedPegasaas Accelerator WP Clear Cache - Clear Extended Coverage

  8. When a page/post is saved, any page/post that also contained that post-type outside of the normal content-region (for example, an archive page), those posts are also cleared.

  9. On a recurring basis if the “auto clear cache” feature is enabled in the Settings -> General -> Auto Clear Page Cache, the cache will clear on the set interval (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly).  This is disabled by default.Pegasaas Accelerator WP Clear Cache - Auto Clear on Particular Interval
  10. When the plugin is deactivated and the user chooses to not save any settings.
