We’re excited to announce that Pegasaas Accelerator is now officially in BETA. Notifications were sent out to the first batch of beta-testers today, with more coming on board next week.
This means that we should have the Pegasaas Accelerator system online and available to those on the reservation list by early October.
There are a number of feature improvements that we will be adding in the next 60 days that we will announce once each feature has been vetted and added to the official download.
Currently, the Pegasaas Accelerator system includes the following features:
- Very Quick Setup
- GZIP Compression
- Browser Caching*
- Page Caching
- Minification of CSS/HTML/JS
- Defer JS Loading*
- Defer CSS Loading
- Auto-detecting and injection of Critical Path CSS
- DNS Prefetching
- Auto-Optimization of Images
- Ability to manually throttle API request/response rate
- Ability to create “Sub Accounts” for managing multiple clients
Pegasaas Accelerator should be able to get your site to minimally 90/100 for Google PageSpeed. That said, we’ve seen site-wide averages, for well-constructed websites — that do not use resources which cannot be deferred* or cached* (see Limitations on Guarantee) — reach very close to 100/100.
If, however, Pegasaas cannot get 90 for any of your pages, let us know so that we can investigate.
Limitations on Guarantee
When optimizing for Google PageSpeed, some resources cannot be deferred* or cached* simply due to the fact that they are explicitly designed not to be. These are typically third-party resources that require real-time data, such as analytics, tag managers, or other geo-location specific plugins and widgets. Some of these include:
- Google Analytics
- Google Tag Manager
- MailChimp Newsletter Subscribe Widgets
- Google Maps
- Weather Maps
